The Bad Wolf vs the Good Wolf — by Vidhi Singh Vaide

Share.

A folk tale that is truly inspiring, told by author Vidhi Singh Vaide. #GiveawayAlert – Answer the question at the end of this article and win 3 copies of the book ‘Truth Behind the Rainbow.’

———–

A long time ago, I was told a folk tale about an old Cherokee Indian. He told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, ‘My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all. One is Evil. It is full of anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good. It has joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.’

Two energies govern our universe and us within it – LOVE and FEAR. The wolves in this story represent these two energies. Nothing ever exists without its opposite and if there is good, there has to be evil. The importance of one is simply defined by the presence of the other. We wouldn’t know the importance of something positive if it stared us in the face. The awareness of the repercussions created by its negative counter part give the positive its importance.

Around us we see fear, disharmony, hate, jealousy. The Evil wolf is growing strong we might say. Terrorism knocks us out and we are paralyzed by fear and hatred. Then those emerge who help and serve, pull others out of this crippled state of fear caused by loss. That day the good wolf wins. Every time someone shows an iota of compassion without an ulterior motive, the Good Wolf wins. The energy of the wolves is not restricted to being just within us. These represent the energies of love and fear all around us. When one grows stronger through the morphogenetic effect the universal energy representing that wolf grows stronger too.

Getting back to the story. The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: ‘Which wolf wins?’

The old Cherokee simply replied, ‘THE ONE YOU FEED.’
