Popping the Cherry (an excerpt)
“You’re still a virgin!”
Meghna Kapoor whirled around. Every eye in the classroom seemed focused on her. She glared at Shanaya Oberoi, her accuser.
Meghna shrugged. “What if I am a virgin?”
“Then you’re a loser,” Shanaya said. Several of the other girls in the room nodded and giggled.
Shanaya’s tone softened. “You know, girl, I can help you out here, so you can drop out of the losers club. I have a friend, wickedly cute by the way, who’s got the same condition as you. I told him I’d be glad to help him solve his problem, but he doesn’t want to be with a girl who’s already done it.You guys would be perfect for each other.”
After class was over, Meghna tried to escape the crowd.
Why did Dad have to get transferred to such a big city like Delhi? Life here sucks compared to Kanpur.
The two girls headed for math class. En route Shanaya backhanded Meghna in the arm. “There he is!”
“The guy I was telling you about; the one who’s going to pop your cherry. The one with the red t-shirt. His name is Abhimanyu Singh.”
The next morning Meghna walked out to the university special bus stop.
“Excuse me, but is that seat taken?”
She looked up to find a boy standing over her and pointing to the empty seat next to her. She shook her head and the boy plopped himself down next to her.
A boy walking past their seat slugged Meghna’s seat-mate playfully in the arm. “What’s up, Abhimanyu?”
